Parenting is hard. I hear you.

And I want to come alongside you and help you find the solutions you need to guide your children and family in a positive direction on this journey called life.

Parenting children is filled with unknowns. No matter how your family was knit together, there are always bumps in the road. But, what we all want for our children is that they will grow up to be their best selves.

I have made it my job to help children and parents navigate some of the challenges of life.

As someone who specializes in finding solutions for families, you might think I have mastered parenting, but I still struggle at times myself. But, with 30 years of parenting behind me, including  parenting 7 children - both  biological and adopted, along with a degree in occupational therapy, I have the tools, experience, and understanding to help you forge a path forward.

As an occupational therapist, it is my job to support your family in daily life.

Do your child’s big emotions make you feel like you are walking on eggshells?

Does your child fall apart after school?

Is dinner time a disaster?

Does your child have trouble making friends?

Is it hard for you to face the day knowing there will be chaos?

If so, I feel your pain. I have been down that road and want to partner with you to help your child and your family make positive changes.

Outdoor Occupational Therapy

You may be wondering why I do most of my occupational therapy services outdoors…I am glad you asked.

My youngest child joined our family through adoption and, through no fault of his own, the way his brain worked made connecting rather difficult. One day, in the midst of my getting my OT degree, he and I had a chance to take a hike together. He was A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON IN THE WOODS.

I knew I was on to something big. Being in nature provides an environment that literally changes the way our brain works. Not only is it therapeutic BEING in nature, but doing REAL activities that are MEANINGFUL and MOTIVATING for a child creates TRANSFORMATION and provides real-life activities that a child wants to do.

Pretty different from a clinic setting, huh?
